Founding member, Gemini Award-winning actor and activist Liisa Repo-Martell (Lars and the Real Girl, THIS IS WONDERLAND, FLASHPOINT), says ARCA’s mission is to make climate action the #1 priority this election. ARCA aims to inspire all artists in Canada to lend their voices to reach their diverse communities to unite Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast in demanding real leadership and action to combat the climate crisis before they head to the polls this Fall.

"ARCA started as a group of friends concerned about the terrifying climate crisis, who believe that we can use our respective crafts, creative voices, and platforms to get the message out to all Canadians that we need to vote for real action for climate change on October 21 and demand that our leaders make climate action a priority,” said Repo-Martell. “We are proud to have formed a collective of some of Canada’s outstanding artists from all disciplines, and to roll out a series of funny, stirring, sometimes scary, but always hopeful messages that together, we can demand our government step up with robust policies and definitive action to protect the future of Canada and our planet.”

About Artists for Real Climate Action
ARCA – Artists for Real Climate Action is a grass roots, non-partisan group of actors, filmmakers, writers, graphic designers, comedians, visual artists, digital and broadcast marketers who have come together to marshal their persuasive powers toward a shared purpose: making climate action the #1 issue of the Fall election. ARCA seeks to ignite a sense of emergency around the climate crisis, prompted by the latest UN IPCC report calling for “urgent and unprecedented” action to prevent irreversible climate catastrophe. ARCA aims to inspire Canadians to demand real leadership and real action to combat this crisis, while inspiring confidence that change is possible and that the time to strike is now. ARCAs campaign of public awareness messages leverage the craft and voices of diverse Canadian artists, compelling Canadians to  Vote for Real Action on Climate Change when they head to the polls on Oct. 21
